Greg was born June 6, 1952 in Jefferson City, Mo. the son of Dr. Eugene E. and Virginia N. Robinson Lake. He was married on November 8, 1975 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Leanne M. Scherr.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Greg was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson City High School. He attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. and graduated from Lincoln University in 1974. He was a 1978 graduate of Cincinnati Technical College with a degree as a Physician Assistant.
Greg has been a Physician Assistant with the Columbia Orthopedic Group since 1978 and he will be missed by the hundreds of lives he touched over the years. Previously, he was employed at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City from 1970 until 1976.
He loved reading and doing crossword puzzles, and was quite the trivia buff. He was an avid University of Missouri Tiger fan, and enjoyed tailgating with family and friends most of all. He enjoyed golfing, and he spent many Monday nights bowling with his friends. He had a witty sense of humor, and many classic one-liners that will never be forgotten. One of his finest talents was casually sneaking into the background of other people’s photographs as the best photobomber around.
Greg enjoyed the beach, but was especially fond of his family times at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was always happiest on vacation, and let everyone know by singing, “I am on Vacation!!” Most importantly, he cherished his time with his family, and was the best Giggy ever to his grandkids!
