Mrs. Peggy L. English, age 88 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Jefferson City Manor Nursing Center.

 

Peggy was born February 22, 1924 in Mokane, Missouri the daughter of Paul E. Dickson and V. Blanche Taylor Dickson.  She was married on October 4, 1946 at Kansas City, KS to Robert D. English, who preceded her in death on June 26, 1964.

 

A resident of Central Missouri for most of her life, Peggy graduated from Jefferson City High School.

 

Peggy did oil color tinting for English Studio part time and was employed with the State of Missouri for many years including in the Enrolling Room of the Missouri State Senate until her retirement October 1, 1982.

 

She was a member of the First Christian Church.

  

Survivors include: two sons, Robert Bradford English and his wife Karen Farrar English of Kansas City, Mo. and David Preston English and his domestic partner Robert Dougherty of Palm Springs, California; two brothers, Clifford T. Wren and his wife Pam of Jefferson City, Mo. and Julian C. Wren and his wife Gloria of Jefferson City, Mo.; two granddaughters, Lindsay R. Beaird and her husband Alex and Amy L. O’Keefe and her husband Sean, their Mother Marsha L. Mills; three great-grandchildren, Tatum Baxter, Ethan Baxter, and Jackson Halbert.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, J.T. Wren; her husband; and one brother, Clyde Wren.

 

Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
