Mr. Robert H. “Bob” Williams, age 74 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the Villa Marie Nursing Center.

 

Bob was born March 10,1936 in Pontiac, Illinois the son of Sterling and Josephine Williams.  He was married on October 16, 1960 in Prairie City, Illinois to Janet L. Evans.

 

Bob graduated from Pontiac High School and attended the University of Illinois.  He served in the United States Air Force as a radar operator during the Korean Conflict.

 

A resident of the Jefferson City area since 1981, Bob was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Corrections retiring as a caseworker in May, 2001.

 

He was also co-owner of M.& W. Motors in Russellville which specialized in restoring foreign and classic sports cars.  

 

Survivors include: his wife of fifty years, Janet; one son, Stirling Evan Williams and his partner, Katrina Thomas of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, John Williams and his wife Betty of Minden, Nevada and Don Williams of Senatobia, Mississippi; one sister, Joan Hubbard of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vic Williams, and one sister, Lois Eichenberger.

 

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Tuesday.

 

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in the Freeman Chapel with military honors following.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

          

Funeral  arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.

We will both miss Bob's sense of humor! It has been great working with him on the cars...he will be sorely missed... Let us know if we can do anything...
